Location Privacy

Current location-based services are centered around the idea of continually sensing a user’s location in order to provide and update information services based on that location. As these devices will permeate our daily lives they also hold privacy risks: a service provider that tracks the movement of a user automatically at all times with a high degree of spatial and temporal precision is easily able to generate a complete user profile that not only includes a complete history of the user’s movements but also reveals which type of information has been accessed where and when. Location privacy investigates how to safeguard a person’s privacy.
